"Tarzan and Nancy Drew: Doomed From the Start". Started as a paperback, but more famous as Lifetime Made for TV movie, starring Valerie Bertinelli as the mother ape, and Harry Hamlin as Tarzan, the incompetent loverboy.
Those girls are saying (from left to right): "How tedious - she's blubbing again, isn't she?""Hmmm? Oh yes, it appears she is. So quaint."And I reckon it's a short story from the Girls' Fun Annual, 1957.
Daisyfae, yes! You've nailed it! Or at least, you would have, if there were any justice in the world. Sadly, there is not. Neither, Sudders, is it Girls' Fun Annual, 1957. Close though.
Girls' Own?I had a few of these as a kid, passed on from my mum, but I've only got one left and I've forgotten what the others were called.
